estoy aqui!!

the last 20 minutes of the flight from dallas to mexico city were probably one of the greatest and most impressive and touching moments in my life. it is hard to find the right words for the beauty of this view. the city is perfectly embedded into this valley of mexico's central uplands. and it is HUGE!! according to my lonely planet (the bible) el distrito federal spreads across more than 2000 square kilometres, not stopping over the slopes of the massive mountains that it is surrounded by. i was cordially received by my host alex, his girlfriend and another friend. those guys and alex' parents are showing hospitality towards me, that i have never experienced before (mi casa, su casa). so far everything is going perfectly well. i even forgot about the rather discouraging section "dangers and annoyances" of 'the bible'. we'll see what the next days will bring. expectations have already been exceeded by far anyway.

the landing was literally neckbraking. i think the last 20 metres, we were just free falling. even the stewardess' faces turned white. but it had no influence on my excellent mood.

folks, i strongly recommend going there. mexico RULEZZZZZZ!!!
